Over the course of 49 weeks, between July of 2014 and July of 2015 I drank 888 bowls of Thin Matcha. Before drinking each bowl, I took a picture of it, on the same table. The times of day varied. And my matcha making skills improved. I began this journey out of an inner necessity. I drank matcha tea but did not know much about it, about its origins, about where my tea bowl came from and so on.
At the end of the project I had found out quite a lot about tea culture, about the name of my bowl, who made it and what it represents. I was able to connect with the creator of my bowl and we have since met and he istructed me to make three of my own matcha bowls.
I still drink matcha almost every day. The project has inspired many other projects since.
