Drawing is a very open idea. Even monochromatic drawing with just a pen or pencil is a very diverse and large universe. Drawings are often the result of a planned process, in that a certain outcome is expected. A certain visual plan exists, and it is then translated into a visual expression.
The grown drawings here are somewhat unexpected results of a drawing process. A seed or seds of a drawing was first placed on a sheet of paper. Then something akin to growth rings were drawn around those drawing seeds. This results in very organic shapes, because it is a process that in some way could be seen in nature. Tree growth rings come to mind. The tiniest shifts in environment and circumstances can cause dramatic changes in the finished drawing.
The drawings are that, and they are also a contemplation of what a drawing really looks like from the point of view of a pen or pencil. A drawing is a linear growth process, no matter how it is represented and it is a series of moments spent in contact with paper and not.
