All of my work is very personal and it is also a translation. I create the work, but I also filter a certain creative energy that exists regardless if I am here or not.
A lot had happened in the time when these drawings emerged. It was towards the wintery end of the Covid19 Pandemic. We lived in London and then unexpectedly my mother became sick. And so in early 2022 we had moved to Germany to be near her. And then in early February—just days later—she passed away. And there we all were. A completely unexpected new beginning and a new opening had occurred.
The energy shifts of all these events combined were massive. It took quite some time to translate them into anything. These drawings were the first set I was able to create. And they helped find a path towards new and incredibly fertile ground.
