Two things, no three things. One: Things can get really shaky on the train. The subway is almost one hundred years old, the tracks are work out, it can be a bumpy ride at times. Two: Some drawings are just really weird and I do not really like them. (What made me draw this really strange bus?) Three: These postings are not a live event. Happy New yEar 2003 does not mean that I was left behind... it just means that this particular page in this particular book was drawn on January 1st 2003. And why yEar? Do you know?
I really like the weird bus. It has a Cheshire Cat quality to it. Although the face actually more closely resembles the bad gremlins in the Gremlins movie. It's evil, it's cute, don't feed it after dark, it's public transportation!

it's sort of a cross between a Chinese dragon and the cat-bus in a Miyazake anime - Tonari no Totoro - maybe The Totoro Next Door in english. (In a strange way, it also reminds me of a film professor I once had. oooo, think it's the teeth... )
Oh, the name of the movie in English is "My Neighbour Totoro."

well, you at least have a real public transportation system in nyc. it took me two hours today to get from point A to B, in spite of just 23 miles distance. why? because I'm in LA, which might just have the worlds worst traffic system in place - none.
it could be fun to start the new year with a new ear. maybe you'd hear things differently, or hear something you hadn't heard before. or inherit some funky earrings, at the very least.
