Ms. Cold

Layers upon layers upon layers are between me and the cold. And yet we still shake hands. She sneaks into my gloves, both pairs of them and touches the fingertips just sly at first and then she grabs them one by one. Then the kisses on my face, the tip of my nose, the cheeks, she sucks on my lips. Enough already. She finds a place where I did not tuck in my sweaters under my jackets and her hand goes right there, straight onto my skin, straight for my back, right there. Oh please. I pull my hat over my face. Nobody can recognize me now but her. She still goes for my neck, she still embraces my legs, she even... well, you know.
So I just go from door to door to door, trying to avoid her advances. But once inside, for too long, I miss her.
Winters are really tough in New York.

Greetings from the heartland... where it's going to be 45 today.

*rolls eyes*

Man, I miss winter!

At any rate, two suggestions:

REI reusable heat packs: http://makeashorterlink.com/?V3D221123

Or make your own, by filling sock material with rice and sewing it shut... microwave and you've got hot (dry) rice in your pocket. Google around for better directions, but that's the skinny.

And when I lived in Montréal, I'd do the following: t-shirt, put on scarf, work shirt (over scarf), coat, etc... kept out the draft... so would an extra long t-shirt (for tall folks... they don't come un-tucked but aren't too warm).

tough? they sound awfully sexy to me.

i wonder if the word s*xy will attract a whole new group of rreaders to this space. ; )

Ms. Warm is here in Southern California today, it will be about 82F!! And it's JANUARY!

my goodness... hot stuff.

pssssst! i have one word for you... UNDERWEAR. it'll get rid of that pesky "shrinkage" problem too.

geez, after readin' this, i oughta get out in the cold more often!

Witold,

your genius is mind-blowing. Are you married?

Thank you so much for the kind comments, Hannah.
