look ma, i have a hole in my sock. i have a big hole in my sock it is so big i can see the other side of the city through it, and there are some kids playing on the roof down there, they are so tiny.
words are fun.
broken movable type because of cheap hosting is no fun at all.
i know, i know, there is nothing more boring that to read about some broken back end stuff. (Unless you get really excited reading that i fixed my imaginary horn glasses with golden duckttape this morning and that my pocket protector is now made out of a silk-pashmina blend.)
this blog is broken, my friends. i chose the cheapest hosting i could find and now i have to pay for it. did you realize that there have not been any pictures posted here for a little while? well, my upload image script stopped working a tiny while ago and because i am not the best hand-coder.... no pictures for you.
(or me, or anybody.)
oh, and i do not reply to comments? guess what, the comments are no longer being sent to me. they are kept a secret by the mighty and smart server that sits somewhere on a farm in texas. boy oh boy...
but i got a haircut today and spoke with miguel, who was hidden behind many options in the time warner cable phone system. our conversation was recorded for trainings purposes and i will now go out into the supercold again to pick up my cable modem... (with proper id)... because... my dsl provider went out of business. swell. (i somehow like this word ?swell?... as long as it is not spoken with the ghostly voice at midnight.)
Oy,
it's okay :) even if it is a little bit broken this is still one of my favorite blogs. Always so interesting and happy to read.
do you need coding for imgs?
itsamac.com is swell
my host jaguarpc.com is not so bad.... if they only had zippier tech support and maybe some more predictable service, they would be quite perfect.
otherwise, $93/year including domain registration for a year does sound pretty grand, doesn’t it?
Speaking of broken.
*small sigh*
I wish you had some way of highlighting your links that didn't completely fall apart on my Mac IE 5 browser.
I can't see a single link on your site... if I think about it, I'll sometimes tab-through, but that's a pain.
Anyway, here's the scoop: you don't differentiate by color, or text decoration, apparently you only differentiate by enboldening the text.
Problem is, enboldened text doesn't show up at the font size you've specified on my browser.
I realize that it's my fault, as I've turned off link underlining... but it's so invasive on most sites! Couldn't we get bold and some color shift? Maybe #666666?
Pretty please?
*plaintive grin*
ahhh, jaguar pc. i use them too. i thought the whole server move to texas was supposed to solve this. i'm not even hosting much of anything yet, but there have been plenty of dry spells with no email followed by a flood the next morning. chris and i determined that they must have a wild cat (a jaguar?) in their server room who likes to gnaw on the cables now and then. other than the cat problem, yes, the rest of their services are pretty great for the money.
a'hem (coughitsamac.comcoughsoon to be called mac highway coughcough)
hello...
oh, the link color..
okay... i will make it orange later today...
: )
You are a minor diety... and as soon as you change the link color, I'll gladly waft some incense over your site.
: )
oh boy... now i started off with the wrong CSS and so not only are the links still gray, but the side bar is all messed up...
i will now go have lunch and return later to fix the mess..
; )
minor mess, oh well...
; )
Yeah! I can see the links now!
= )
Now if only we could get back the orange A:hover.
