The accident this morning looked very sad. I felt helpless and was very frustrated that there was no such thing as an ambulance for Pets. Animals suffer when injured and every second without help is as horrible for them as it can be for every one of us. (Be honest, we are a bit like animals, only we take showers.) I did not know that there actually was such a thing as Ambuvet.com The Pet Ambulance can be called, toll free, under 1-800-AMBU-VET (1-800-262-8838). Those who do not use a phone can email them at 911@ambuvet.com . Ambuvet is a 24 hour ambulance service specifically designed for pets, owned and operated by vet techs. Thank you so much for the info Em!ly.

yes, thank you emily. hopefully we'll never need the number, but it's a great thing to know. :)
very sad about the little dog. hope he's ok ....
i grew up in a town where the vet knew everyone's first name and i could (and did) call him at 2:am and he would rush right over (doesn't take to long in a town only ten streets big)...
in san luis obispo, ca the fire dept. will pick up your pet and take them to the vet! in the case of my friend's the slofd even payed for the burial of her kitty "JJ" because they did not make it in time :(
...i think that's the type of luxury you give up when you move to ny...but as i understand it ambuvet does a good job at emulating this best as possible.
(and the pizza here is really good...oh yeah and the bagels are boiled)
