The search is “back”. It used to be possible to search the site some time ago, back in the day when I was using blogger and when there was a giraffe picture in the sidebar, back in January maybe? The search is now back. You can type in a word into the field on the right hand side and you will most likely be able to find what you are looking for. Most likely, because only 500 pages of the site are indexed at this time. Five hundred is the limit of free at the company which makes this search possible, the superbly mighty Atomz. (A-tom-Z) Their solutions are really cool, you should give them a spin. Well, witoldriedel.com has reached the size of 890 pages (891 including this entry). I know this, because I had Atomz index my site and this is a piece of trivia they provide for free. I contacted the sales department at atomz, in the hope that I will not be charged the same fee as their other clients like Macromedia, Sharp, Betty Crocker, CBSNews, .ing, the McGraw-Hill companies and Palm to name just a few. This is a personal site. It has my name on it. I hope I will be able to afford the little search box on the side of this blog. Have a wonderful day. Oh, and try to find yourself... Not even necessarily here.

Witold, nice to see a search function here. Though to solve your problem, I believe later version of Movable Type have a built in search functionality?
You can use that for the blog and use atomz for the rest of the site this keeping atomz usage free (provided you don't have more than 500 pages in the rest of the site). You can tell the atomz search to skip the MT directory.
And...the search made the sidebar go back down to the bottom again...
: )
On a PC of course.
: )
Hmm, this is a good idea. I think there is a Movable type extension that handles search. (I think lifeuncommon.org uses it.)
I will definitely have more than more than 500 pages beyond Movable Type in the near future though. There are about 300 hand coded pages on the site so far.
And the sidebar is down again? On all the pages?, on the search result page? The links on the search result page are not the most reliable now either... oh boy...
I am typing this comment in Netscape 7 on a mac in MacOS9, so I guess Mozilla is able to handle my code. What browser do you use?
Thank you so much for all the comments. : )
The sidebar seems fine both here at work (MSIE 5.5###, PC) and at home (Latest Mozilla Build & MSIE 5.2, Mac OS X). The search bar and tuna graphic are at the top right. Your posts scroll down the left side. The divide is an almost perfect 2/3.
YEAH!*
*As he lifts both arms in the air to show his (temporary) victory over the code.
His face bruised and his lips barely showing through the dust of the arena that now covers his face entirely.

Thank you for taking your time to look at the site at home and at work.
Last time I used MovableType (which is about six weeks ago now) the search function at http://www.jayallen.org/mt-search/ served me well. This was still version 2.0, though.
I lose the sidebar when viewing archives but it doesn't bother me.
