great, I can barely see the screen. Well, I am actually typing this blindly, almost. There is a pulsating round aura right in my field of view. I thought that it might be something with my eyes at first, but then the aura does not change no matter how I close the eyes. So it is something manufactured by my brain? It is a round, circular, pulsating "lens", it distorts whatever I see in this area, sly left of me. It is a pulsating transparent object, very distracting. It feels as if this thing were suspended about 5 inches to the left of my face. I really need some real sleep now. Wow...
Have you ever had such an experience?
My better half gets those all the time. It's what's called a "classic migraine" or "optical migraine". People commonly refer to bad headaches as "migraines" but that's actually a misnomer. My better half gets those all the time and most of the time (not all of the time) the blind spot goes away and is followed by a headache and light-sensitivity. They tend to follow stress (like AFTER a stressful even, even a couple days later). There's like a "grey" or "blind" spot right in the middle of his vision and he can only see out of his peripheral vision. It's a pain, you can't read or surf or watch tv so it renders you bored to death, and so a nap is usually the prescription because there's not much else to do and also sleep is very helpful. Good luck! :D
Posted by: Laserone on April 3, 2003 05:20 PMwow, thank you... and you are right. it all began with a stressful situation. Hmm... I wonder if this will come back.
I wish that your better half is less and less stressed. Really hope all is well. Thank you for leaving such a kind comment on my blog.
Ouch! Take care big guy!!! Did you hear that I am now a "professional photographer"? (I got a gig at The Picture People), and I get to wear a hat with a propeller on the top! Oh well...
Posted by: pat on April 4, 2003 12:25 AMSure! I like to try to help people when I can. =:D As an afterthought, my mom has had the same thing. It was my better half's doctor who called it a "classic migraine" and my mother's doctor who called it an "optical migraine", and they both had the same symptoms. Hope u feel better! Happy blogging! =:D
P.S. I just love that portrait of u and your sock dog! It's so... classic!
