Ahem, well, these are, well, how can I say it. I am not really proud of these. The first one is a friendly vista of the city, a continuation of the other series we just saw. The second and the third one were drawn at the News-Stand-Store on 59th street, near Circle. The place is still there and it is a deep shop, packed with international magazines for all possible areas of interest. They have back issues from a long time ago and I would not be surprised if they carried future publications. I must have walked home. This place was on the way. It is impressive. You should go visit. Enough about these drawings. More coming up soon. : )
Witold, your bad-day drawings are something I can only aspire to. :) What I like best is the simplicity of the line. Do you ever trace the same line twice, or are you just much too confident for that? Everything in these drawings is so very certain.
I especially like the negative-space people in drawing #2. And the hanging lamps and letters in #3. Such lovely lines.
*up late working on evil xhtml assignment, but breaking to enjoy your skill*
Posted by: carolee on March 5, 2003 04:10 AMhello Carolee, well, once a line is drawn, I do not want to break it by drawing there twice. Hmm... It is this way when I draw with ink and no pre-drawing. Pencil is a different story, ballpoint-pen as well. This very steady line of the fountain pen however, no safety net of a pencil drawing... all I can do is pull lines that are as simple as only possible.
Evil xhtml assignment does not sound good at all. Maybe some experts here can help?
