A clarification and a request.

Ahem. Just to put things straight. I am a rooster. Yes, I am a rooster. My is a rooster too. I was born in 1969, which makes me a Rooster. What sign are you? (I know yours, Tom.)
Don’t be shy, click on the comment link and add your chinese sign. Let’s see if there are more monkeys than pigs. Please.

I'm a rabbit, my first child is a dragon, I think my second child is a snake (not sure, July 2001?) and if I recall correctly, my husband is a monkey. :o)

my mothers mother was born in the year of the dragon. she and all other women born that year had a harder time than usual in getting married because dragons are supposed to be quite powerful and its unlucky to be married to someone with so strong a "ki" (force, energy).

she married, but unfortunately for her, her first husband died after less than 2 years (he got pneumonia or something like that). by this time she already had a couple kids and now that she was branded as very unlucky (she did manage to kill her first husband, right?), she had a heck of a time getting remarried. she actually had someone that she wanted to marry (it was love) but the guy's family was totally against it (because she was so unlucky). after several years, though, she finally ended up with someone else (my grandfather) who was too poor to afford someone luckier.

ive asked others if they knew of similar stories, but most of the times my friends say they never heard such things. so it could be that my grandparents were from the deep, deep, deep, d e e p boonies where people were a lot more superstitious. i dont know to what extent her birth year really truly affected her being able to marry well, but this is what i was told.

thank goodness most people dont care too much either way. what a drag it would be if it really mattered these days. lifes tough enough as it is without making it unnecessarily complicated by saying things like 'im not sure if i should consider dating you because you were born in 1976', dont you think?
